1. Who we are
Meraki Discovery, LLC is a Minnesota limited liability company with an office at 13018 Legacy Creek Parkway, Blaine, MN 55449. We provide eDiscovery and litigation intelligence services through the MerakAi platform.
2. What information we collect
We collect three categories of information:
- Information you provide directly — your name, work email, firm affiliation, and any information you submit through forms on our website (such as the "Get in touch" form).
- Customer data — when you engage Meraki Discovery for services, the documents, metadata, coding decisions, and related work product you process through the MerakAi platform. This is the data your matter is built from.
- Operational information — basic technical information needed to run the platform: IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, timestamps, and audit-log events tied to your account activity.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Deliver and operate the MerakAi platform under our engagement with you;
- Respond to inquiries submitted through our website;
- Provide customer support and service updates;
- Maintain audit trails as required for defensible eDiscovery work;
- Protect the security and integrity of our platform and our customers' data;
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. AI processing and model training
Customer documents and content processed through MerakAi are governed by our service agreement and the trust commitments we publish on our website:
- Your data is never used to train AI models. No exceptions.
- AI analysis is opt-in at the matter or document level. You can disable AI analysis on any matter, or on individual documents, without losing access to the rest of the platform.
- Processing is performed under enterprise privacy terms with our infrastructure providers, including our AI provider's commercial terms governing API use.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your information. We share information only with:
- Infrastructure providers we rely on to operate the platform — currently AWS, Supabase, Vercel, and Anthropic — each of whom processes data under their own enterprise privacy terms;
- Service providers we engage to support our business operations (for example, our email provider for transactional messages), under written confidentiality terms;
- Legal obligations — if required by valid legal process, but we will notify you to the extent permitted by law.
We do not add you to marketing lists from form submissions and we do not share your email with third-party marketers.
6. Data security
We host the MerakAi platform on infrastructure that maintains SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications. We use:
- TLS encryption in transit;
- AES-256 encryption at rest;
- US data residency;
- Database-enforced tenant isolation, so each firm's data is segregated at the row level;
- Immutable audit logging for every coding decision, override, and bulk action.
No system is perfectly secure, and we don't claim otherwise. We commit to keeping our security practices up to date and to notifying affected customers promptly if a security incident impacts their data.
7. Data retention
We retain customer data for the duration of the active matter and for any post-matter archive period specified in your Statement of Work. Operational logs are retained for a reasonable period to support security monitoring and audit. You may request export or deletion of your data per the terms of your service agreement.
8. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email support@merakidiscovery.com with your request. We respond within 30 days.
9. Children's privacy
The MerakAi platform is intended for use by legal professionals. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our practices evolve or as required by law. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we'll provide additional notice to active customers.
